Security and data protection

VeriSign seal is a secure site and has the VeriSign seal of approval.

We have taken various precautions to guarantee our customers a high level of security when they use our online service.

Credit card information and personal data

Viking treats your data, such as credit card details, as absolutely confidential. They are saved on a secure server and are not disclosed to any third parties without your prior written authorisation.

All pages that request payment information are routed via a secure server and protected by SSL technology.

The full credit card number will never be shown again after you have entered your card details for the first time. Only the first 4 digits are shown, followed by placeholders. You will also be unable to use the "back" button in your browser.

Secure server (Secure Socket Layers SSL)

The Viking online shop is a secure site. We use SSL (Secure Socket Layer)—the latest encryption technology—to protect your data during payment. Our secure server software encrypts sensitive data that is exchanged between your computer and the Viking website, such as name, address and credit card details. This means third parties are not able to access your data.

As the order processing system at Viking is not directly connected to the Internet, third parties are not able to access your information via the Internet. We ensure that all of your stored data is securely protected against unauthorised access.

Standard server

Some Internet browsers occasionally have problems with SSL-protected websites. If you are having problems accessing our system via the secure server, you have the option of using our standard server.

Please note that your credit card details are not encrypted if you send them via the standard server. If you have any questions, please email our customer service team.

Data protection declaration

Viking respects and protects the private data of our customers and all visitors to the Viking online shop. Any data needed for business processing is saved and processed, including for advertising purposes, and your name, title and address are passed on to selected businesses if we think that their offers would be of interest to our customers. In accordance with legal regulations, your interests are taken into account during data processing and transfer.

Collection and general use of information, links to external and branded websites

We monitor purchase behaviour in the online shop and collect comprehensive demographic information in order to analyse trends and improve the website. This allows us to not only improve the layout and design, but also to create a website that caters to individual customer requirements. We may work with appropriate third parties to carry out this analysis. We only supply them with the information necessary to complete this analysis. These statistics contain only anonymous data.

This website uses third-party analytics tools, to track page content and click/touch, movement, scroll, and keystroke activity. You can opt-out for Mouseflow at

We work with a credit card processing company to issue invoices to customers of our online shop. Depending on the goods or services purchased and where they are being delivered, we may also commission third-party distributors and/or couriers to support us during order fulfilment and delivery. In such cases, we only pass on any information necessary for order processing (e.g. name, address and, if appropriate, payment details).

Furthermore, we only work with reliable third parties who offer exclusive deals to our online shop customers. In such cases, we share our customers' usernames and addresses with these partners to allow them to contact the user regarding the deal or service. We will never share your credit card details and you always have the option to opt out of this service.

We may pass on personal data under special circumstances, such as enforcement of our general terms and conditions or if it is required by law or a legal process, in order to protect the rights and security of our online shop and its users. This includes exchanging information with other businesses when it is for the purpose of reducing fraud and credit risks.

By using our online shop, the user consents to the terms and conditions of use for the website INCLUDING ALL DAMAGE CONDITION RESTRICTIONS as defined in this declaration on "Security and data protection". Furthermore, the user consents to the collection and use of information by Viking, as defined in this declaration on "Security and data protection". Use of your data
